Jeff Green, the Houston Rockets’ veteran forward, made headlines when he signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the team.
Though some questioned an $8 million annual investment in the longtime veteran, Green recently achieved a remarkable milestone that deserves more attention.
The 38-year-old has surpassed NBA legend Vince Carter for most teammates in league history.
Carter, who wrapped up his career with the Atlanta Hawks in 2019-20, held the record with 261 different teammates.

Green’s journey to the record took an interesting turn this season.
Already at 260 teammates before the current campaign, he crossed Carter’s threshold when rookies Reed Sheppard, Jack McVeigh and N’Faly Dante joined the Rockets roster.
He has also moved past other NBA journeymen Trevor Ariza (259), Garrett Temple (250) and JaVale McGee (245).
Green’s path through the NBA reads like a cross-country road trip.
After being drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics, his career has taken him through Oklahoma City, Boston, Memphis, Los Angeles (Clippers), Orlando, Cleveland, Washington, Utah, Denver, Houston and Brooklyn.
His presence with 11 franchises represents more than one-third of the current NBA teams.
The record stands as a testament to Green’s adaptability and longevity in the league, qualities that have kept him valuable to teams across nearly two decades.
