The Dallas Mavericks are in bad shape and it might be time to throw in the towel and focus on the future.
With the news of Kyrie Irving’s injury, many Mavericks fans feel the season should be over and the <a href="https://sports-info.online/2025/01/13/baseball/analyst-believes-orioles-should-trade-for-mariners-pitcher/” title=”Analyst Believes Orioles Should Trade For Mariners Pitcher”>front office should start to plan for 2025-26 and beyond.
How can they turn a corner and put this troubled year behind them?
According to Kevin O’Connor, it is time to fire general manager Nico Harrison.
O’Connor said everything plaguing the team right now is because of Harrison and his choice to trade Luka Doncic last month.

After the trade, the Mavericks wanted a lot from their new big man, Anthony Davis.
But O’Connor said Davis rushed back from an injury because the Mavericks were attempting to make a point and help fans get over the Doncic trade.
That led to him being hurt again and now he could be out for the rest of the year.
As for Irving, he had even more responsibility put on his shoulders without Doncic and that may have been a factor in this current ACL injury.
So, once again, the Doncic trade created by Harrison bit the Mavs.
Fans are distraught, the team is in serious trouble, and it might be some time before anything looks right in Dallas.
If ownership wants to win the fans over again, they may need to relieve Harrison of his duties.
He did what he thought was best for the future of the team but it seems to have only hurt them more.
The Doncic era is over in Dallas, but should the Harrison era also be ending?
