The Philadelphia 76ers might be having one of their worst seasons in years, but Tyrese Maxey has been sensational at times.
He has had some very strong performances, including on Wednesday evening.
He scored a robust 30 points even though the Sixers lost to the New York Knicks.
But it was the shots he didn’t make that helped him earn a spot in league history.
As pointed out by StatMamba, Maxey became the first player ever to score 30+ points while going 0-of-10 from the three-point line.

Maxey has been shooting 34.1 percent from beyond the arc this season, so it’s very surprising that he didn’t sink at least one during Wednesday’s game.
He was obviously having an off night from downtown, but he still had an impact on the court.
Sadly, it wasn’t enough, and the 76ers fell for the ninth time in a row.
They now have a 20-38 record and are the 12th team in the East, with their chances of making the playoffs slipping away more and more every single day.
As for Maxey, he remains great and is averaging 27.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game in 2024-25.
He is actually scoring more points than he did last season when he earned Most Improved Player, which means he is continually getting better even as his team struggles.
At this point, many people are saying the Sixers should give up on this season and solely focus on next year instead.
If that happens, Maxey will probably keep playing hard.
Even when he is having a bad night from the three-point line, Maxey continues to compete.
