Alex Carey’s stunning catching on the field was one of the major highlights of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match between Australia and England at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.
Carey set the tone in the second over of the match by leaping to his right at mid-on and taking a one-handed stunner to dismiss England opener Phil Salt. He then ran backwards from point and dived to complete a two-handed catch which sent explosive middle-order batter Harry Brook back to the pavillion.

The 33-year-old also took a straightforward catch at mid-on to send Jamie Smith back.
Carey, who usually plays as a specialist wicketkeeper, was replaced by Josh Inglis behind the stumps for the match against England. Interestingly, out of the 78 One-Day Internationals he has featured in so far, Carey has not kept wickets in only four of them.
