Ja Morant might be the greatest player in NBA history when it comes to making epic posters that don’t count.
Either because he barely misses or he’s called for an offensive foul, Morant has had his fair share of almost epic dunks.
That was the case again in the win over the San Antonio Spurs.
The former No. 2 pick took flight to put Victor Wembanyama, of all people, on a poster (via Bleacher Report).

Unfortunately, the bucket was waved off.
The play was already dead when Morant took off, which is why the dunk didn’t count.
Also, not to take anything away from Morant, one of the most electrifying high-flying in-game dunkers in NBA history, but that may have also been why the 7-foot-3 Wembanyama was a tad late to react.
Morant closed the game with 21 points, 12 assists, a win, and one play that could’ve been the highlight of his career.
Most fans will agree that even though the play was already dead before the dunk, it was so mesmerizing, emphatic, and spectacular that the league should’ve allowed it.
Notably, Morant had recently stated that he was done with dunking, citing health concerns for it.
He’ll get his signature poster dunk one day, and we’ll all be watching and waiting.
