If the San Antonio Spurs are able to trade for De’Aaron Fox, they will have to send a lot of assets to the Sacramento Kings.
Thankfully, they have plenty.
Evan Sidery reported on a potential package the Spurs could create for Fox.
He said the Spurs might craft a package that features many draft picks.
The Spurs currently own two unprotected picks from the Atlanta Hawks, plus an unprotected 2031 first-round pick via the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Additionally, they hold unprotected swap rights in 2031 with the Kings.
They clearly have a ton of draft picks, but will that be enough for the Kings?
The Spurs can put together a trade package for De’Aaron Fox thanks to their surplus of draft picks.

It all depends on what Sacramento wants to do: do they wish to win now or build a future?
Some fans are nervous that the Kings’ front office will blow up the team if they lose Fox, even though they have their deepest roster in years.
If that is their plan, acquiring a slew of future draft picks is a smart move.
But if they believe in the team they have now, even without Fox, the Kings will require more than just draft capital.
Who would be a good replacement for Fox and who could help them continue on a path to the playoffs?
The Kings are weighing all their options, and they will want to have discussions with multiple teams.
Getting a lot of draft picks is never a bad idea, but the Kings likely have an eye on the present and not just the future.
They have spent a long time getting to this point and becoming competitive again, and they might not be ready to give up their biggest star for draft picks alone.
