There have been many rumors about the Los Angeles Lakers and their desires before the upcoming NBA trade deadline.
They reportedly want a strong wing player but they also might be looking for a center to help Anthony Davis on the frontcourt.
Evan Sidery is reporting that the Lakers recently “checked in” with the Toronto Raptors about Jakob Poeltl.
The Lakers can “make salaries work alongside draft capital in a potential deal for Poeltl by including Rui Hachimura and Jalen Hood-Schinifo.”
The Raptors would want a “large offer” for Poeltl, so can the Lakers make that happen?

Poeltl is in his ninth year in the NBA and is averaging 14.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
He is posting large numbers, and Lakers fans can already envision how he’d look on the court with Davis, LeBron James, and others.
But as Sidery noted, the Raptors will demand a lot for Poeltl.
The Lakers have been very hesitant to move their first-round draft picks, which means the Raptors might not accept an offer from them.
They will be sellers on the trade market, which means they have the luxury of sitting back and letting other teams come to them.
They don’t have to rush and can simply make their demands and see if a team delivers them.
Poeltl could fix a lot of the problems the Lakers are experiencing, but he won’t be inexpensive.
LA might have to budge and finally give up their first-rounders if they want to add this big man to their lineup.
