Jimmy Butler might finally get his wish and leave the Miami Heat, but it’ll require multiple teams to work together and get it done.
According to Evan Sidery, an arduous effort involving five teams is coming together to move Butler.
Sidery is reporting that in a potential five-team trade, Butler would end up with the Phoenix Suns, while the Milwaukee Bucks would get Zach LaVine, the Chicago Bulls would acquire Bradley Beal and draft capital, the Miami Heat would get Khris Middleton, <a href="https://sports-info.online/2025/01/14/nba/suns-make-a-surprising-lineup-move-with-jusuf-nurkic/” title=”Suns Make A Surprising Lineup Move With Jusuf Nurkic”>assets, and capital, and a fifth team would receive unwanted salaries and capital too.
Each team would get something, Butler would be happy, and this messy episode would finally be in the past.
But will it happen?
There is a potential five-team Jimmy Butler trade framework making the rounds today:

Bucks = Zach LaVine
Bulls = Bradley Beal + draft capital

It’s somewhat surprising to see the Heat dealing with the Suns considering that is who Butler wants to play for.
Because of his attitude and actions, Miami’s front office has no reason to give Butler what he wants, but they are apparently open to the idea of shipping him out to Phoenix.
This proposed five-team trade would get that done, but it could all fall apart in the blink of an eye.
That’s because every single team has to work together to finish this and make it happen.
If one team backs out or demands more, everything will come to a screeching halt.
The unnamed fifth team will be pivotal in this deal too.
They will be taking on unwanted salaries with their draft capital, which suggests it’ll be a franchise that isn’t doing very well right now, such as the Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, Portland Trail Blazers, or others.
A deal like this would be complex and hard to follow, but it might be Butler’s best shot at getting out of Miami.
