The Charlotte Hornets snuck past the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night, beating them 110-105 behind the power of LaMelo Ball.
Speaking of Ball, Dallas’ Kyrie Irving talked about him to Joey Mistretta and the press after the game.
“He’s got good pedigree… He comes from a family that has pros… I wanna see that young guy reach his potential even more so and answer a lot of the doubters and naysayers that say, ‘He can’t win,’” Irving said, per Legion Hoops.

During the game, Ball put up 23 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.
For the season, he is averaging a career-high 29.3 points, as well as 5.4 rebounds and 7.6 assists on 42.1 percent from the field.
Ball is having another banner year, even though his Hornets are just the 13th team in the East with an 11-28 record.
For years now, fans have been expecting more from the Hornets, partly because of how great Ball is.
He has been getting a ton of attention and has already been named Rookie of the Year in 2020 and earned an All-Star appearance in 2021-22.
Irving has been in the league for years and has seen some of the best young stars rise through the ranks and become icons.
He believes the same thing is possible for Ball, despite some people questioning his abilities.
Irving said he wants to see Ball do great things and prove all of the doubters wrong and he definitely is right now.
While Irving was surely disappointed to lose on Monday night, he was happy to be close to Ball and once again witness what he is capable of.
