Indian star Virat Kohli moving up to fourth in the latest ICC ODI rankings for batters following his heroic 84-run knock against Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal in Dubai.
The 36-year-old replaced Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who slipped to fifth, while his opening partner Shubman Gill retained the top spot.
Australia’s skipper Steven Smith, who announced his retirement from ODIs following the semifinal loss to India, climbed six spots to 16th after his batting contributions at the tournament.
Afghanistan star Azmatullah Omarzai has reached the summit of of the ICC’s all-rounder rankings and replaced his compatriot, Mohammad Nabi.

Following a blistering ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, which included a maiden five-wicket haul against England and a fifty against Australia, Omarzai has climbed to the top.
The 25-year-old was also one of the key climbers in the latest ODI batter rankings, off the back of his 126 total runs in the Champions Trophy. He moved up 12 spots to 24th (598 rating points).
India’s Axar Patel was the other all-rounder to rise big, moving up 17 spots to 13th and registering a career-high 194 ratings points.
Matt Henry of New Zealand has been rewarded for his superb tournament, rising three spots and onto the podium of the bowling rankings. Henry is now third (649 rating points), behind Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana (first) and South African tweaker Keshav Maharaj (second).
The resurgence of Indian seamer Mohammed Shami at the Champions Trophy has seen him move up three spots to 11th, while South Africa’s Marco Jansen is up nine spots to 18th. England’s Jofra Archer is up 13 spots to 19th, joining compatriot Adil Rashid and Australia’s Mitchell Starc.
