The Orlando Magic have had a rough, injury-plagued season and have failed to capitalize on the momentum the franchise built after winning 47 games last season and putting up a serious fight in the first round of the playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The team has taken a step back due to injuries to nearly all of its young stars, one of whom is now out indefinitely after undergoing knee surgery.
ESPN’s Shams Charania shared on Sunday that Jalen Suggs, who hasn’t played since January 25th, is out indefinitely in order to undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove a cartilage fragment in his left knee, though he is expected to make a full recovery and his return will be based on how his rehab goes.

Suggs played just 16 minutes in that January 25th game because it was his first game back from missing the previous ten games with a back injury.
Orlando is currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference at 29-32 and has sorely missed Suggs’ presence on both ends of the floor, as the offense has screeched to a halt without him while his tenacity defending opposing guards is irreplaceable.
Suggs is averaging a career-high 16.2 points per game this season in what is beginning to look like a lost year for the Magic, who also had to endure a rough stretch early in the year when both Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner missed over a month with strained obliques.
Orlando looked to be taking the next step by getting off to a strong 15-7 start, but the injuries are starting to pile up and ruin what could have been an exciting year.
