Tuesday night was a big moment for Luka Doncic and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers did everything in their power to support him.
Following LA’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, LeBron James talked about how much they wanted Doncic to have a big game.
“As his teammates, we wanted to try and get this win for him,” James said, via Spectrum SportsNet.
James had a phenomenal game against the Mavericks, partly because he is a natural competitor and also because he was eager to help Doncic make a statement.

Before tip-off, most Lakers fans expected that Doncic was going to have a banner night and lead the team.
But it was James who put up the most for Los Angeles, posting 28 points and 12 rebounds on the way to a 107-99 win.
Just because he scored the most didn’t mean he wasn’t helping Doncic out at every opportunity.
There were multiple moments with the two future Hall of Famers working together.
One play, in particular, featured James and Doncic tossing the ball back and forth to each other, with James obviously wanting his new teammate to take a shot and silence the Mavericks.
Since the Doncic trade, James has repeatedly said that he wants to create a nice and inviting environment in Los Angeles.
They used to be opponents, but now James is going to show Doncic just how supportive he can be.
James has been in this situation before with multiple teams, so he knows the emotions that come with these sorts of games, and he did all he could to help him.
