The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a roll lately and have looked like true playoff contenders.
Even before the addition of Luka Doncic, the team was playing like a squad that had something to prove.
They are currently the fourth seed in the West, but because of their recent string of wins, some people believe they can climb even higher.
Speaking on “Get Up,” Jay Williams said the Lakers have a “legitimate chance to chase that two-seed in the Western Conference right now.”
Is that just wishful thinking, or will this team stay consistent, strong, and move up?

Their Tuesday night win over the Dallas Mavericks was obviously a big deal, especially since it was Doncic’s first game against his former team.
But it’s really their victory against the Denver Nuggets a few nights before that has people talking and expecting bigger things from this squad.
Despite worries about their defense following the loss of Anthony Davis, the Lakers have been robust and powerful on both ends of the court.
They have been able to shut down teams like the Boston Celtics and the offensive explosiveness of stars like Nikola Jokic.
Meanwhile, LeBron James has been doing everything he can for the team, sometimes leading the plays and sometimes deferring to Doncic.
Everything is working as it should, and head coach JJ Redick has figured out what makes this group work best together, so it’s no surprise they are doing well.
But their remaining schedule is difficult, and there are always concerns about injuries.
They may or may not reach the second seed, but all NBA fans should believe that this Lakers squad is the real deal.
