The Cleveland Cavaliers are clear favorites in the Eastern Conference, but the teams behind them are all fighting, climbing, and falling in the standings.
The Indiana Pacers are now the fourth-best team in the Eastern Conference with a 32-23 record.
As pointed out by Evan Sidery, this is partly because the Pacers have gone 22-8 over their last 30 games.
Only the Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers have a higher winning percentage over that span of games.
Can they keep it up, and how high can they climb?

Right now, the Pacers are behind the New York Knicks, who hold the third seed with a 37-20 record.
Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks sit right behind the Pacers and have a record of 32-24.
When the season began, the Pacers were losing more games than they were winning, and there were deep concerns about what was ahead for them.
There were also worries about Tyrese Haliburton, who had a few bad games at the start of the year.
During the Pacers’ latest win over the Los Angeles Clippers, Haliburton posted 29 points and 12 assists.
He has scored in double digits for weeks now and has a season average of 18.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 8.6 assists on 45.5 percent from the field.
He’s not the only one playing well in Indiana, of course, but when he performs better, the team seems to step up too.
Is it possible that the team can keep scoring important wins and possibly even surpass the Knicks for the third seed?
They don’t seem to be slowing down, and the Pacers feel like a sure thing for the playoffs.
