A bleeding Rachin Ravindra left the pitch after being hit near his eye by the ball during the first one-day international between New Zealand and Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.

The incident happened when Rachin, who was fielding in deep mid-wicket, went to catch the ball after Khushdil Shah hit Michael Bracewell’s ball for a sweep.

Rachin aimed to take the ball flat with his fingers pointing upwards but the ball blasted straight through his hand and slammed into his head. The player went down immediately after being hit.
Fortunately, the player stood up and walked off the pitch on his own after being attended by the medical staff.
New Zealand is defending a target of 331 after posting 330/6 on the board.
