Last season, NBA fans were stunned by the awful record of the Detroit Pistons.
This season, everyone is sitting in awe of their turnaround.
Legion Hoops pointed out that the Pistons won a total of 14 games last season and have so far won 43 this year.
That makes them the first team to have the worst record the year prior to making the playoffs.

The Pistons’ 43-34 record this year is light years better than their 14-68 from last season.
They are now guaranteed a spot in the playoffs and last year they didn’t even come close.
If the playoffs started today, the Pistons would battle the Indiana Pacers in the opening round.
There is a good chance they could fight through that team and make it to at least the second round.
There have been changes up and down the organization this season, from a new coach to additional players.
At the center of it all has been Cade Cunningham, who has come into his own this season and is in the running for Most Improved Player of the Year.
Last year, the Pistons looked like a complete nightmare and literally made NBA history for the number of times they lost.
This year, they are one of the most exciting teams and an actual threat coming out of the East.
There is every reason to believe that they will keep getting better.
This season has been a miracle for the Pistons, but 2025-26 and beyond could be even better.
They hit the lowest of lows last year, but the Pistons have definitely put that in the rearview mirror.
