Hasan Nawaz’s blistering hundred paved the way for Pakistan to shatter a 17-year-old T20I run chase record in its nine-wicket win over New Zealand in Auckland on Friday.
Pakistan recorded the fastest-ever 200-plus run chase in T20Is, when it overhauled the target of 205 in just 16 overs.
The previous record was held by South Africa, which chased down 206 against the West Indies in 17.4 overs riding on Herschelle Gibbs’ unbeaten 90 in the T20 World Cup in 2007.
