Boxer Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn had to be pulled apart by security in the Piers Morgan Uncensored studio as tempers flared over an egg throwing incident and Benn’s famous father.
Two burly security guards intervened as the rivals squared up over an earlier stunt involving an egg being thrown by Eubank Jr at a press conference, where boxer Nigel Benn stepped in.

As things turned nasty, a furious Benn told his opponent: “We can have it outside. No problem… Think I’m mucking around, threatening my dad. You think I’m playing games? [Don’t] Ever talk to my dad like that?”
The interview, due to air tomorrow evening on YouTube, got off to a fractious start with the pair arguing about Benn’s failed drugs test and their up-coming fight in April. But the bitter feud boiled over when Piers asked about boxing legend Nigel Benn protecting his son during a recent press call.
In a clip released this evening, Piers asked: “Your dad [Benn] intervened with the egg throwing and put his arm, I think, on your [Eubank Jr] throat and at the second press conference, you basically threatened Nigel Benn said, if he did that again, you’d deal with him.”
Chris Eubank Jr replied: “It wasn’t a threat, it was a promise.”
Conor Benn later added: “You’re just upset that your dad can’t stand you and my dad has my back.”
Eubank Jr retorted: “Me and you are fighting, whatever happens between us, happens. No one else can touch me because if they do, they’ll be consequences.”
Benn: “Consequences to what? If I slap you right now, what are you gonna do?… Don’t talk about my dad…”
After lunging at his opponent, he added: “You f**ked up talking about my dad… What the f**k are you looking at? Come on, we can have it outside, no problem. Yeah, yeah we can. Think I’m mucking around, threatening my dad. You think I’m playing games? [Don’t] Ever talk to my dad like that?”
Eubank Jr added: “This is the fight game, kid.”
A furious Benn said: “Did you hear what I said? We’ll meet outside then.”
“Anytime you want, kid,” Eubank Jr responded.
Asked by Piers if he thought it was disrespectful to threaten the legendary boxer, Benn added: “It’s extremely disrespectful,” with Eubank Jr concluding: “The guy put his hands round my neck… it was an egg, nobody can put their hands on me… I had to issue the warning.”

Piers Morgan Uncensored – Eubank Jr & Benn on their famous dads – ‘It’d be great to see your dad in your corner’
Boxers Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn went head to head in the Piers Morgan Uncensored studio in the lead up to their April fight. But, despite the interview becoming so heated they had to be pulled apart by security, Benn revealed he would like to see Eubank Jr’s estranged dad in his rival’s corner.

Asked what message Eubank Jr had for his boxing legend father, who is estranged from his son, he said: “I’m here. I’m getting ready for the biggest fight of my life. If you want to be next to me like his father’s next to him, we can do it together. If not, no hard feelings, I’ll get the job done for you, don’t worry about it… He’s my old man. It doesn’t matter if I don’t talk to him until the day I die. I’m always gonna love him. He taught me everything… As far as I know, he doesn’t want this fight to go ahead.”
Telling Piers he had been estranged from his father for a “couple of years”, he went on to explain about how the rift started. He told the special edition of Piers Morgan Uncensored: “It got to a stage where I needed to step out of the shadow completely. It’s a big shadow… I realised I have to separate myself from this huge character that’s always next to me. He’s different, his father kind of let him do his own thing and kind of, you know, jump in and sink or swim. My old man was always, always next to me. I got to a stage where I decided that I needed to walk my own path. He was not happy with that decision. That’s the start of it. Then you have a situation with my brother passing away, that affected him in a deep way, affected all of us… Mental health is a real thing. That incident, coupled with the fact that we were already not seeing eye to eye, destroyed a large part of the relationship, and it still hasn’t seemed to have recovered, unfortunately.”
Despite dubbing him an “idiot” during their fractious studio clash, Benn, who has a close relationship with his own father, fighter Nigel Benn, conceded he would like to see Eubank Sr at the fight.
He said: “My dad loves me regardless. My dad’s proud of me regardless, the relationship I have with my dad is beyond boxing. It’s funny because my dad doesn’t really, my dad doesn’t really care about what I do in my career. My dad cares more about me as a man and about my happiness… My dad is my hero.”
Benn added: “It’s a matter of fact your dad doesn’t like you, otherwise he would be here…But what I’m trying to say to you is, it would be nice to see your dad there in your corner. I’m fine, because at the present moment, he thinks I’ll knock you out. Again, a matter of fact. I’m not saying that being funny, that’s what your dad believes, it’s out there.
“But I genuinely, again, you may think I’m being sarcastic. We are where we are because of our dads. They’ve laid the foundation. We are like our dads. We are the double and carbon copy of our dads. It’d be great to see your dad in your corner, and you mend that relationship, and whatever has come in between you guys, it’d be great to see and I mean that that’s coming from my heart, not being sarcastic. I mean what I say.
Eubank Jr said: “It’s hard to believe…I’ve got to be careful, I don’t want you drawing me into something here.”
