They may not play together now, but Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are still close friends.
Therefore, Durant was deeply disappointed and concerned when it was announced that Irving would miss the rest of the season because of an ACL injury.
Speaking to the press, per Brendan Mau, Durant spoke at length about Irving and how tough this injury is.
“I feel for my boy. I know how much case about the game and love the game,” Durant said, before adding how much Irving wants to perform for his fans and his team and teammates.
Durant was obviously emotionally affected by this injury and is hoping for the best for Irving.

There is no denying that this is a bad injury for Irving.
For some players, it takes years before they perform like they used to, and some are never the same again.
Irving, who is now 32 years old, will have the best medical team looking after him and making his treatment plan.
He has every chance of recovering, but that doesn’t mean it won’t take a while.
Irving and Durant got very close during their time together with the Brooklyn Nets.
They were never able to truly capitalize on all their talent and reach the NBA Finals, partly because of injuries that bothered that team too.
There have been rumors of these two stars coming together again in the future and playing on the same squad, but nothing is certain, especially right now.
No matter what happens, it is obvious that Durant is rooting for his friend and former teammate and wishes him a speedy recovery.
