New Zealand was dealt a big blow ahead of its ICC Champions Trophy final against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
The Kiwis’ lead pacer Matt Henry was ruled out of the summit clash due to a shoulder injury he suffered while taking a catch against South Africa in the semifinal on Wednesday. Nathan Smith replaced him in the XI.

Henry took a catch to dismiss Heinrich Klaasen in South Africa’s chase of 363 in Lahore but landed awkwardly during the effort. He went off the field but returned to bowl two more overs in his spell of seven.
Henry has been key to New Zealand’s title hopes in the 50-over tournament and returned figures of five for 42 against India in a group match that the Black Caps lost.
The right-arm pacer is currently the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, with 10 scalps in four matches at an average of 16.70.
