The Match No. 18 of the WPL 2025 turned out to be an high-octane run-fest, with UP Warriorz Women securing a 12-run victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. As a result, Bengaluru were the second team to get knocked out of the tournament.
UP racked up the highest total of the tournament, thanks to a majestic knock by Georgia Voll. The 21-year-old Australian fell one run short of a well-deserved ton, ending up unbeaten on 99* off 56 deliveries. Her knock comprised 17 fours and a six. Kiran Navgire’s 16-ball 46-run knock was instrumental in boosting UP’s innings with the much-needed momentum it needed.
Kim Garth and Renuka Singh conceded 42 runs apiece in four and three overs, respectively. Playing her first game of the season, Charlie Dean conceded 47 in her spell. Georgia Wareham scalped a couple of wickets. However, even she proved expensive. Bengaluru’s Ellyse Perry ended up as the most-economical bowler of the night.
In return, Bengaluru fell short by 12 runs. Richa Ghosh top-scored with a valiant 69-run knock which came off just 33 deliveries. Sabbhineni Meghana and Perry could not capitalise on their brisk starts, departing for 27 and 28, respectively. A late six-ball 26-run blitz by Sneh Rana provided some late hope for Bengaluru, but it was not to be.
Sophie Ecclestone ended up with match-defining figures of 3/25 in her four-over quota. Her spell comprised a total of 12 dot balls. It was the best figures recorded by the English left-arm bowler in the current season. Skipper Deepti Sharma proved quite expensive. However, her four overs accounted for three dismissals too (3/50).

Sneha Rana is telling Deepti that look who you are and who I am. You are playing in my place in Team India, which you do not deserve. @SnehRana15 #SnehRana #WPL #WPL2025
