The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Houston Rockets on Monday evening, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gave fans another jaw-dropping performance.
The sharpshooting star couldn’t be stopped and a lot of people took note of his incredible stat line.
Because of how well he played, Shannon Sharpe spoke at length about Gilgeous-Alexander on “Nightcap” and said he should win this season’s MVP.
He said the trophy is his to lose and even though others, such as Nikola Jokic, are playing well, the Thunder star should finally be crowned the league’s most valuable player.

Gilgeous-Alexander gave the Rockets a massive headache during Monday’s game.
He scored 51 points and seven assists, shooting 60.0 percent from the field, 55.6 percent from the three-point line, and 100 percent from the free throw line.
It was a great game for the Thunder star, and he has had many of them this year.
The 26-year-old guard is averaging 32.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game, shooting 52.5 percent from the field night after night.
Sharpe is right to praise Jokic as well, but Gilgeous-Alexader is the odds-on frontrunner to be MVP this year and it’s an honor that has been years in the making.
He came in second place in the race for MVP last season, and he’s been playing even better this year, which makes this choice rather easy right now.
To make matters even better, his team is easily the most dominant one in the West, so there is a good shot that Gilgeous-Alexander is MVP and earns his first title too.
Someone could surpass Gilgeous-Alexander between now and the end of the season, but it seems unlikely when he is having games like this one.
