Jalen Brunson was injured in the final moments of Thursday’s overtime thriller between the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks.
As he limped off to the locker room, Knicks fans were terrified at the thought of losing Brunson for an extended amount of time.
That’s because Brunson remains the most important player in New York, which was evident during Thursday’s game.
Following the match, Lakers head coach JJ Redick spoke highly of Brunson.
“It seemed like Brunson had an answer for everything. He was fantastic tonight,” Redick said, per New York Basketball.

Brunson was incredibly solid from beginning to end, scoring 39 points and 10 assists before the injury took him out of the game.
The Lakers fell behind and were struggling to keep up for much of the game.
Every time it felt like they were making progress, Brunson would create a deft assist or put up a well-timed shot and the Knicks would hold onto their lead.
This has been the case all season long.
Brunson is averaging 26.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game, shooting 49.0 percent from the field and 38.4 percent from the three-point line.
He is a natural team leader and is working well with the rest of his squad, creating reliable chemistry along with great shots.
Thursday night’s loss hurt the Knicks a lot, especially because it was another example of them falling to one of the top teams in the league.
But the worst part about it was Brunson’s injury and now fans are hoping he is back at 100 percent as soon as possible.
