Magic Johnson might not be an NBA star anymore, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still a huge fan and paying close attention to the league.
Johnson loves to give shout-outs to teams and players who are succeeding and right now he is celebrating the surging Detroit Pistons.
Writing on X, Johnson tipped his cap to several people who have made Detroit’s “amazing turnaround” possible.
“Congratulations to Detroit Pistons Owner Tom Gores, President Trajan Langdon, my Head Coach of the Year JB Bickerstaff, All-Star Cade Cunningham, and the rest of the Pistons players on their amazing turnaround to become the 6th seed in the East. I know the entire state of Michigan is excited for the Pistons!” Johnson wrote.

Johnson may be one of the biggest Los Angeles Lakers legends of all time but he was born and raised in Michigan so the Pistons will always hold a special place in his heart.
Even if he wasn’t a Michigan native, Johnson would be proud of the Pistons because they have been sensational lately.
Just a year ago, they were the worst team in the league, a national laughingstock, and were literally setting records because of how badly they were performing.
Now they are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and seem like a team that is ready for the playoffs.
Johnson said that is possible because of the team’s ownership, front office, and the expert coaching of JB Bickerstaff.
Meanwhile, Cade Cunningham has come into his own and is leading the team better than ever before.
After years and years of bad luck and tough losses, things are looking bright in Detroit.
They are playing strong basketball and it’s a blast for all fans to witness this major turnaround.
