Australia takes on Afghanistan in its final league game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday.
This will only be the fifth meeting between these teams and the first one since their famous ODI World Cup match in Mumbai in 2023, which Australia won by three wickets, thanks to Glenn Maxwell’s unbeaten double century.
Though Afghanistan has never beaten Australia in ODI cricket, it would be confident as it got the better of the Aussies in a crucial T20 World Cup encounter last year.
