The Oklahoma City Thunder remain the best team in the Western Conference with a sturdy and seemingly unshakeable 46-10 record.
Despite that, some people believe they don’t have what it takes to reach the NBA Finals.
Kendricks Perkins isn’t one of those people.
Speaking on ESPN, Perkins explained that he feels “sorry” for anyone who doesn’t believe in the Thunder because he thinks they are going all the way to compete for a championship.
He gave a number of reasons why he thinks that’s likely, including the fact that the team is incredibly deep and has a roster that just doesn’t quit.

While most people call out Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren as the biggest stars of the team, the thing that makes the Thunder so special is that they have multiple players who are always ready to step up, play hard, and compete for all 48 minutes.
That was clearly evident on Sunday evening when they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 130-123.
Yes, Gilgeous-Alexander scored the most with 37 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, but other players like Jalen Williams, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Aaron Wiggins also showed up.
If it weren’t for the full roster, this team wouldn’t be so talented—and so on top.
There are still many games to play and nothing is guaranteed in the NBA, but the Thunder definitely are odds-on favorites to make it out of the West.
Anyone who is counting them out might be sorely mistaken.
Perkins thinks they have what it takes to perform at the highest level, and now they are already to prove it.
