India will take on Bangladesh in its first match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Thursday.
It will be a repeat of the 2017 Champions Trophy semifinal where India defeated Bangladesh comfortably.

1) Kohli reaches mount 14k – Virat Kohli is just 37 runs away from becoming only the second Indian batter and third overall to score 14,000 runs in ODI format, after Sachin Tendulkar (18,426) and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (14,234). Kohli will be the quickest to reach the milestone; Tendulkar took 350 innings while Sangakkara did it in 378.
2) Rohit’s 11k run – Rohit Sharma is 12 runs away from becoming the 10th batter in the world and fourth from India to reach 11,000 ODI runs. Rohit has so far played 260 innings and has a chance to become the second fastest batter to reach the milestone, surpassing Tendulkar (276 innings). Kohli (222 innings) is the fastest batter to the mark.
3) Double century for Shami: Mohammed Shami is set to become the fastest Indian bowler to take 200 ODI wickets, overtaking Ajit Agarkar’s record (133 innings). Shami so far has 197 wickets in 102 innings.
4) Rahim joins elite group – Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim is set to become only fifth wicketkeeper to record 300 or more dismissals in the ODI format. Rahim is four dismissals shy of the milestone and will join an elite group, which includes the likes of Sangakkara (482), Adam Gilchrist (472), MS Dhoni (444), and Mark Boucher (424). Rahim has so far kept in 256 innings.
