Few people in NBA circles have gone out of their way to defend and uplift LeBron James as much as Kendrick Perkins.
So, you know it’s a big deal when even Perkins calls him out.
Notably, that was the case on Monday’s edition of ESPN’s “Get Up” (via NBA Central).
Kendrick Perkins calls out LeBron James for showing up late to All-Star Weekend and pulling out of the game at the last minute, which prevented injury replacements like Norman Powell from being added

Perkins called out LeBron for showing up late to the All-Star Game and making it all about himself.
Of course, no one would’ve been mad at LeBron for skipping the game to get some rest.
He’s 40 years old, and there’s nothing wrong with putting himself first.
Nevertheless, just like Perkins said, he probably knew that he wasn’t going to play as soon as he was selected for the game.
He could’ve given the league and the fans a heads up, and the NBA could’ve and should’ve found him a replacement.
Perkins also ripped James for not even dressing up and wearing his uniform for the team photo, stating that he came out as someone very selfish.
Needless to say, James has earned the right to handle himself differently in the league.
Throughout the course of his career, several people have criticized James for his selfish and high-maintenance behavior, but this may have been one of the lowest points.
It’s not like he got hurt early in the morning, and even if that had been the case, he could’ve probably given the league more than an hour’s notice that he wasn’t going to suit up.
