The Philadelphia 76ers have gone through a lot this season.
They hoped to be in the mix for championship contention after acquiring Paul George, but that’s clearly not the case right now.
They’ve been a below-average team for most of the season, and injuries continue to haunt them.
That’s why Kevin Garnett believes Joel Embiid should sit out for the rest of the season.
Talking on his podcast, the legendary power forward urged Embiid to ‘shut it down,’ have surgery, and get his body right (via All The Smoke Production & Legion Hoops).
Otherwise, he might not even be healthy for next season:
“Embiid, Big Fella, let’s get some fresh air. Go and shut it down. Get your body right. Go ahead and get the surgery. Bro, he not gonna be ready for the season, bro,” he said.

Truth be told, this makes perfect sense.
The Sixers are a long shot to make the playoffs.
Paul George isn’t playing up to his usual standards, and he’s banged up.
There are some rumors about Tyrese Maxey also being hurt.
Embiid has barely been able to play, and even when he’s been on the court, he hasn’t been the dominant force he usually is.
The Cameroonian big man might never be fully healthy, and, unfortunately, some fear that we may have seen the best of his game already.
His injury-proneness, reportedly questionable eating habits and work ethic have derailed his promising career.
With that in mind, it might make sense for him to just call it a day and try to focus on getting healthier for the upcoming campaign.
There’s no point in risking further injury with the way things have shaped out for Nick Nurse’s team this season.
