It felt like the Phoenix Suns were going to lose Kevin Durant for several days leading up to the NBA’s trade deadline.
The Suns reportedly shopped Durant around to several different teams, including his former Golden State Warriors, but a deal was never completed.
Now, Durant is back on the Suns, which potentially felt awkward from an outsider’s perspective.
However, at least based on his public comments, Durant doesn’t seem to be bothered by what transpired over the past few days and wishes to put it all behind him.
“No, I always had a goal of playing my contract out and seeing what happens… I know that’ll be a topic, that’s probably the most frustrating thing about being in trade talks, is that the microscope is gonna be on soley just me,” Durant said via PHNX Suns on X.

Durant didn’t appreciate the spotlight during this fiasco, and it didn’t help that rumors were flying and multiple teams were mentioned as likely destinations.
After all of this discourse, the Suns still have a two-man core of Devin Booker and Durant, which is one of the best duos in the league when both players are healthy.
The Suns currently hold a 26-26 record, which is good for a tie for 10th place in the Western Conference.
They still have plenty of time to turn things around and make a deep playoff run, but they’ll need everyone on this roster to be bought in, especially Durant and Booker.
