Star India batter was named in India’s playing XI for the second One-Day International against England at Barabati Stadium on Sunday.
Kohli had missed the series opener in Nagpur due to a knee problem, but India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak had confirmed on Saturday that the 36-year-old would be available for the second game.
“Kohli is fit. He is good to go. He is here and training with us,” he had said.
Kohli replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made his ODI debut in Nagpur, in the playing XI for the 2nd ODI.
Along with bringing Kohli back into the fold, India also handed a maiden ODI cap to mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy in Cuttack.
