India captain Rohit Sharma smashed a century during the second One-Day International against England at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday.
The 37-year-old got to his hundred with a six over long off against English leg-spinner Adil Rashid.
This was Rohit’s first ODI century since his 84-ball 131 against Afghanistan in Delhi during the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
This was also Rohit’s 32nd ODI hundred, which places his third in the all-time list, behind compatriots Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
Earlier in the game, Rohit had become the second most prolific six-hitter in ODI cricket. He was level on 331 sixes with Chris Gayle ahead of the match, and overtook the West Indies opener when he flicked Gus Atkinson for a six over midwicket in the second over of India’s chase.
