The Dallas Mavericks’ decision to trade Luka Doncic will go down as one of the most shocking in NBA history.
Trading a 25-year-old superstar in the middle of the season just months after making it to the NBA Finals isn’t a decision most teams would’ve made.
Notably, it also made it seem as if they were done with him, especially considering that they didn’t even fetch a more valuable trade package around the league.
That’s why Anthony Edwards admitted that he felt bad for him (via NBA Central).

Talking to the media, the Minnesota Timberwolves star questioned the reasoning behind the trade, stating that it was crazy that they would trade a 25-year-old star after making the NBA Finals.
Reports indicate that the Mavericks became frustrated with Doncic’s larger-than-life demeanor and constant complaints.
They were reportedly particularly concerned about his questionable work ethic, poor conditioning, and eating habits.
The Mavs had reportedly addressed those concerns with the Slovenian superstar multiple times in the past but to no avail.
Now, this might be the wake-up call he needed.
No one can deny Doncic’s talent and impact.
Even if he’s not in the best shape, he can control the tempo of a game like no one else in the league.
Hopefully, this will spark a fire within him, motivating him to be in the best shape of his career from here on out.
The Mavs made a bold move, so bold that it’s making them look like they lost the trade even after getting Anthony Davis and a first-round pick.
