Dallas Mavericks fans are still reeling from one of the biggest NBA trades in quite some time.
Luka Doncic, who was previously thought to be the cornerstone of the franchise, is now with the Los Angeles Lakers, trading places with Anthony Davis.
Davis and Max Christie are the Mavericks’ newest players, hoping to make an impact on the team despite the surprising circumstances of their arrival.
Christie and Davis introduced themselves to fans in a recent video shared by the Mavericks, which Yahoo Sports highlighted on X.
“Mavs fans, your boy AD here with Max, and we’re excited to be a part of the organization, being part of the team. We’re going to do something special with y’all,” Davis said.

Not having Doncic around might feel like a big blow for Mavericks fans, but having Davis, especially, could turn out better than they’re expecting.
Trades aren’t won or lost on the day they happen, and while some people might view the Mavericks as losers in this situation, anything can happen in the NBA.
Focusing on the negatives of losing out on Doncic won’t help anyone, and considering Davis’ track record, this could turn out to be the right decision.
Davis and Daniel Gafford should have a field day together, instantly making them one of the best big-man pairings in the league.
The Mavericks might not have Doncic around, but with an approach similar to what the Minnesota Timberwolves did with Rudy Gobert and Karl Anthony-Towns last year, this team is about to look a lot different, perhaps better, even.
