The Miami Heat could be on the verge of big changes before the upcoming NBA trade deadline.
Obviously, all eyes are on Jimmy Butler, but other players should be monitored as well.
According to Ian Begley, the Heat are “interested” in Julius Randle.
“Keep an eye on Minnesota in a Butler deal. In the offseason, the Heat were one of the teams that expressed interest in trading for Julius Randle, per SNY sources. Randle has remained on the Heat’s radar during the Butler saga, sources say. I don’t know if there are any active trade talks between Minnesota and Miami. But the two teams have been in touch on Butler trades,” Begley wrote, per NBACentral.

Randle has been with the Timberwolves since the start of the season and is averaging 18.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.
Those numbers are down from last season, his final one with the New York Knicks, when he put up 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists.
Randle has shown some moments of greatness with the Timberwolves, but the team has had problems this year and is currently seventh in the West with a 25-21 record.
They are looking to get better so they can be one of the strongest teams in their conference again.
Would a Randle trade allow that to happen?
Begley said he isn’t sure if the two teams have talked about moving Randle, but they have discussed a Butler trade.
That means the line of communication is open and a potential deal around Randle could come together before the deadline next week.
