On Tuesday, it was revealed that the Sacramento Kings have opened up talks for a potential trade featuring star player De’Aaron Fox.
Right away, their phone started ringing off the hook with multiple teams hoping to land the 27-year-old guard.
But according to Shams Charania, per Evan Sidery, Fox and his management already have a team in mind.
The San Antonio Spurs are reportedly Fox’s preferred trade destination.
In fact, Fox is so eager to be with the Spurs that he would be open to signing a new long-term contract with them.
.@ShamsCharania with the latest on De’Aaron Fox:

His desire to sign a long-term contract is a big deal because he refused to do that with the Kings.
He will become a free agent in 2026, so any team that trades for Fox wants to know his plans.
Will he stick around for just a season and a half, or commit to being with his new squad for the foreseeable future?
Fox would be willing to agree to a big deal with the Spurs, which is a clear indication of just how much he wants to play with them.
The concept of Fox performing on the court with Victor Wembanyama is enough to get any basketball fan excited.
This could be the start of a very important and successful period in Spurs’ history.
But San Antonio won’t be the only team vying for Fox, and the Kings will have to field many offers.
Of course, they might work something out with their star and keep him in Sacramento as well.
There are many options and paths forward right now, but it seems increasingly likely that Fox will be leaving Sacramento soon.
He wants to head to San Antonio, but will that happen?
