The drama surrounding Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat has only intensified over the last few weeks, and now it’s obvious that the bridge between them has officially been burned with no hopes of repair.

Speaking on “7PM In Brooklyn,” former NBA star Carmelo Anthony talked about Butler’s choices and compared him to another player who had a nasty breakup with his team.
“Jimmy, man, chill out. Because they’re going to Marbury you. They’re going to tell you, ‘Don’t even come around no more until we figure out what’s next.’ And when they do that, there’s no other team you’re going to,” Butler said, per Legion Hoops.

The parallels between Butler and Stephon Marbury are hard to ignore.
Marbury was once a celebrated and beloved basketball figure, but his relationship with the New York Knicks became so contentious that he didn’t just leave the team; he hurt his overall value and impacted his image and reputation.
Marbury’s career was never the same after his ugly split with the Knicks, and Anthony is concerned the same thing could happen to Butler.
