The NBA unveiled their All-Star rosters on Thursday and one name was missing: Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks.
Once again, Young failed to make the cut and some fans feel that was the biggest snub of the year.
Speaking on “Inside the NBA,” Kenny Smith said that Young is putting up great numbers this season, but he didn’t get voted into the game because his team isn’t winning as much as it should.
“Do your points impact winning? Do your stats impact winning?” Smith asked.

He noted that the people voting on the All-Star Game want to see a player and his team succeed.
Yes, some stars get in even though their squads aren’t doing as well as they could, but it makes it much harder.
Young is averaging 22.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and a league-high 11.4 assists per game.
Shouldn’t that make him a shoo-in for the All-Star Game?
Smith said it is more complicated than that, and Atlanta’s 22-26 record is hurting his chances, and that is what held him back.
Young’s absence wasn’t the only big surprise on Thursday when the rosters were announced.
Domantas Sabonis, LaMelo Ball, Norman Powell, Devin Booker, and others weren’t in the mix, which shows how fierce the competition for a spot on a team is right now.
Young has now missed out on the game for the fourth time during his seven years in the NBA, and he has definitely noticed that.
Will this motivate him to push himself and his team even harder in the days ahead?
Perhaps this snub will improve the Hawks’ record.
