Tyrese Maxey was showing off the other night when his Philadelphia 76ers easily defeated the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James.
Maxey posted 43 points during his team’s 118-104 win.
Even though he easily and happily defeated James, Maxey has nothing but praise for the Lakers icon.
“He’s the greatest ever, him and Jordan are right there neck and neck. What [LeBron] has done for our game has been amazing,” Maxey said, via Legion Hoops.

Even in the loss, James was still playing terrific basketball and flirted with a triple-double, producing 31 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.
At 40 years old, he remains one of the most important and impactful players in the league.
He was surely in awe of Maxey, who is averaging 27.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists this season, shooting 43.8 percent from the field.
Maxey is 24 years old, which means he grew up watching James play, and now he is lucky enough to compete against him.
In his eyes, James is the best of the best, and it’s an honor to try to take him down.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons why Maxey was having such a good game on Tuesday.
Being able to go toe-to-toe with a hero like James surely inspired him to perform even better.
The debate about James and Michael Jordan will possibly continue forever, but more and more modern players are coming out to throw their support behind James.
They have seen firsthand how he plays and are amazed by his career and the way he has helped the sport.
