Andre Iguodala was a vital part of the Golden State Warriors for many years and helped the team win four championships.
Both on and off the court, he was a crucial member of the team.
Because of that, the Warriors have announced they will retire Iguodala’s No. 9 jersey on February 23, according to Chris Haynes.
The retirement will follow the team’s game against the Dallas Mavericks and will be just the seventh retired jersey in the Warriors’ history.

Iguodala came to the Warriors after spending years with the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets.
During his eight seasons with Golden State, he averaged 6.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.
He spent two years with the Miami Heat toward the end of his career but then came back to the Warriors, where he retired after the 2022–23 season.
It was very clear that the Warriors would always hold a special place in his heart and the team cherished everything he did for them.
Not only was he a great player (he earned Finals MVP in 2015), but Iguodala was also a prominent voice of reason and a player-coach who helped the younger players on the team find their footing and improve their games.
As he grew older and retirement loomed larger, Iguodala spent more time on the bench but was always involved in every game, leading his teammates and inspiring them to play hard.
He is still a beloved figure of the franchise, and that is obvious by this upcoming jersey retirement.
All the current stars will be there when Iguodala’s jersey heads to the rafters, but the night will be even more special because Klay Thompson will be in town with his Mavericks.
That means the old core of the Warriors can celebrate one of their most valued stars together.
