Although the Toronto Raptors are still one of the league’s worst teams in the 2024-25 NBA season, they have begun to win games that they were not expected to win.
The Raptors have won three consecutive games; however, their record still stands at 13-32, and they will most likely miss the Play-In Tournament and the postseason.
Toronto shouldn’t focus on winning too many games since the 2025 NBA Draft is filled with high-level talent that could transform the franchise’s fortunes.
Considering this, the Raptors should focus on trading some of their veteran players at the upcoming trade deadline.
Toronto has several players on its roster that could immediately come in and help prospective playoff teams, so they should strongly consider trying to accumulate more draft assets and young players.
In fact, there are four names that the Raptors are reportedly open to dealing via Michael Grange of Sportsnet.
“The Raptors are open to trading Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, Davion Mitchell and Chris Boucher for second-round picks,” Grange reported.

The going rate for useful rotation bench players is multiple second-round picks, so Toronto should have no trouble finding that in the market.
Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, Chris Boucher, and Davion Mitchell all have specific skill sets and roles, and each has value, though some might be worth more than others.
With the league as wide open as ever, contenders should be on the phones trying to pry one of these players away.
The deadline is less than two weeks away, so expect trade talk to pick up soon.
