The amount of money that NBA players make is astronomical and hard to wrap your head around.
These eye-popping salaries are only going to grow in the years ahead.
It won’t be long before an NBA talent earns half a billion dollars from a team, but who will it be?
Speaking to All The Smoke Productions, Paul Pierce made his prediction clear. He thinks Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks will be the first NBA player to pull in a $500 million contract.
That may be possible, but will Doncic do it with Dallas or a different team?
Jayson Tatum inked a massive 5-year $315 million extension this off-season, making him the league’s highest-paid player. 🤑

Doncic is repeatedly spoken of as one of the most exciting players in the league.
Many people feel he is the future of the association and could be a historic, all-time great player and Hall of Famer.
Doncic is posting averages of 28.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game this season, shooting 45.9 percent from the field.
The Mavericks know they have someone special with Doncic and likely are willing to do absolutely anything to keep him.
However, if they don’t finally win a title within the next couple of years, Doncic could think about signing a historic deal with a different team.
A $500 million contract doesn’t sound that outrageous when one considers Jayson Tatum recently signed a five-year, $315 million extension with the Boston Celtics.
These numbers continue to go up, and that trend will not reverse.
Whether it’s Doncic, Victor Wembanyama, Giannis Antetokounmpo or someone else, some NBA star is right around the corner from inking a contract that will blow away everything that’s come before it.
