The New York Knicks got better on offense with Karl-Anthony Towns arriving in the Big Apple.
He’s taken plenty of the offensive burden off Jalen Brunson’s shoulders.
Nonetheless, the star point guard remains the team’s leader and most important player.
He’s their go-to guy down the stretch and when they need a big bucket.
As such, other teams focus on him and make sure to be as physical as they possibly can.
That’s why Tom Thibodeau has finally had it.
Addressing the media, the Knicks’ coach claimed that he had sent multiple clips to the league about the way he’s been officiated, as other teams get away with a lot of stuff when they’re guarding him (via Knicks Videos):
Tom Thibodeau on how Jalen Brunson is officiated:
“I send clips in, I do it all. What goes on with him is ridiculous. It really is. I’ll leave it at that.” pic.twitter.com/6BKfxPKwbP

Brunson is one of the strongest point guards in the game, so perhaps the officials rarely give him the benefit of the doubt.
He’s gotten better at drawing contact and going to the line, but you can also see him being banged up, held, and pushed around on almost every single drive.
The Knicks rarely received a call against the Brooklyn Nets, and the free-throw disparity almost cost them that game.
It’s odd that the officials aren’t giving Jalen Brunson the superstar treatment.
He’s the best player on one of the best teams in the game, not to mention one of the biggest markets.
And with how loose officials have been with the whistle lately, the league should definitely take a look at this.
