The Brooklyn Nets’ decision to add Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving looked like a slam dunk at the time.
It wound up being the most chaotic tenure in franchise history.
Irving was either AWOL, injured or ineligible to play.
He snubbed head coach Steve Nash and was suspended for spreading anti-semitic propaganda.
James Harden was in and out, quickly moving on once he saw everything crumble.
Eventually, the Nets had no choice but to trade Durant as well.
However, despite everything that happened, Durant recently admitted he very much enjoyed his time with Brooklyn.
“It was the most fun I had in a long time playing ball. I’ll tell you that. … I just really enjoyed myself. Regardless of the chaos that was going around, I had a great time suiting up and putting on for these fans and for the borough of Brooklyn,” Durant said, via ClutchPoints.
Suns star Kevin Durant spoke about his time with the Nets:

There was always something going on in Brooklyn.
From reports stating that Irving and Durant conspired to get head coach Kenny Atkinson fired to Durant not getting along with Irving and/or Harden anymore.
It was always something.
The Nets were inches away from taking down the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, and the Bucks went on to win the championship.
Brooklyn failed to replicate that success and went down as one of the most disappointing teams in history.
Also, the fans constantly called out Durant for not being able to win a championship after leaving the Golden State Warriors, something that, as unfair as it may seem, will continue to hurt his legacy.
You can’t blame the Nets for trying to pair two superstars, but they’re still dealing with the ripple effect of the implosion.
