The Boston Celtics got destroyed by the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday evening, which was their latest disappointing loss.
They are now 5-5 over their last 10 games and some fans are getting worried that they don’t have what it takes to return to the NBA Finals.
On his show, via The Ringer, Bill Simmons opened up about the Celtics’ troubles.
He said the team is in something that can only be described as “beyond a funk” and this is not an “on-off button issue.”
He added that the team looks like a “zombie version of itself” without a chip on its shoulder.
He isn’t panicking just yet but feels that the situation needs serious attention quickly.

The Celtics came into the season as the best team in the league and favorites to claim another title.
They are still the second seed in the East behind the Cleveland Cavaliers but have hit a few bumps in the road recently.
Since the start of January, they have lost five of their 12 games.
That’s not a staggering amount, but it’s concerning for a team that was doing much better before.
If they continue at this rate, their chances of returning to the Finals will dwindle.
They were clearly the best team in their conference all of last season and it felt like their trip to a championship was a foregone conclusion.
That isn’t the case this year and they will have to battle their own problems as well as a number of opponents who have only gotten better in 2024–25.
Their path will be crowded with competitors trying to slow them down and the Celtics will have to return to form soon.
This could be a turning point for the team.
They can figure out what is plaguing them and then rebound or could get worse.
