The landscape of professional sports has changed a lot in the United States over the past decade.
In the past, players tried to stay with one team for their entire career.
It didn’t always work out from a contractual perspective, but there seemed to be a sense of loyalty from players.
At large, that is not the case anymore, as players tend to shift around to various teams at will, hoping to win a championship somewhere else and leaving their current situation.
The NBA might be the biggest culprit of this, as several of the league’s top stars have demanded trades from their teams.
These requests aren’t always granted, but when players become unruly in the locker room and affect team chemistry, it puts owners and coaches in a bad situation.
Jimmy Butler has made things challenging for the Miami Heat, as he has made it abundantly clear that he’d like to be traded.
At first, it seemed like the Heat weren’t going to give in, but, according to Shams Charania’s recent comments, the team might be making some headway.
As he mentioned on NBA Today, “Jimmy Butler has tripled down on his trade request. I’m told the Heat have had some productive conversations on a potential Butler trade this week,” Charania said.
Shams provided another Jimmy Butler trade update:

Who the Heat have been talking to remains to be seen, but it appears that Butler could be on the move after all.
He continues to be one of the best players in the league, even though he’s caused trouble with the past few teams he’s played for.
Will a new situation help Butler turn things around?
