Sri Lanka spinner Maheesh Theekshana on Wednesday claimed a hat-trick against New Zealand in the second One-Day International at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.
Theekshana picked the wickets of Mitchell Santner, Nathan Smith and Daryl Mitchell across two overs to become the seventh Sri Lanka bowler to achieve the feat.
Chaminda Vaas, Lasith Malinga, Dilshan Madushanka, Thisara Perera, Farvez Maharoof, and Wanindu Hasaranga are the others from the island nation to claim three wickets in as many deliveries.
His wickets helped Sri Lanka restrict New Zealand to 255 for nine in the rain-curtailed innings lasting 37 overs.
