Things haven’t been easy for Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers over the last few years.
The star player has been injured multiple times, holding him and his team back from their true potential.
Embiid recently spoke about the impact these injuries have on him and his mental health.
According to a video shared by Derek Bodner on X, Embiid said that “talking to somebody” has helped him avoid focusing solely on his bad luck.
Embiid added:
“One lesson that I learned is try to stop feeling bad about myself. Just live day by day, have good people around me.”
Embiid spoke last spring about the mental toll that the repeated injuries have taken on him. He was asked last night how he’s avoided focusing on his bad luck.
“Talking to somebody. Get some help.”

You cannot blame Embiid for feeling down in the dumps about his health.
The star player has only been able to participate in seven games this season because of knee problems and other issues.
Last season, he played in only 39 games.
In fact, he has never had a season with more than 68 games and many people have commented on his inability to stay healthy.
Embiid swears it’s not for lack of trying, and he wishes he could play a lot more with the rest of his Sixers squad.
Still, some people claim that his head isn’t in the game and he isn’t devoted to the team like he should be.
When Embiid has been healthy this season, he is still a hero for the 76ers and is averaging 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists.
However, the team is 12th in the East and doesn’t look like a squad that can go all the way to the Finals.
Embiid has had some bad injuries and bad luck, but he is attempting to stay positive for his own well-being and the future of the team.
