Smriti Mandhana has been named captain of India’s ODI squad after Harmanpreet Kaur was rested for the upcoming three-match series against Ireland, starting on January 10 at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
In addition to Harmanpreet, Renuka Singh Thakur has also been rested for the series.
India enters the series on the back of a 3-0 win over West Indies women in December last year. Harmanpreet sustained a knee injury and missed the final two ODIs.
