Tyler Herro was drafted by the Miami Heat in 2019 and has remained with the team ever since.
He has created a strong relationship with the Heat and has become one of their most reliable stars.
But back when he was a draft prospect, there was another team angling to get him.
Speaking to “The OGs Show,” via NBACentral, Herro said the Boston Celtics guaranteed a spot on their roster during the 2019 NBA draft process.
However, as luck would have it, the Heat moved on Herro and he got to play for the team he grew up idolizing.

Herro said he was a major LeBron James fan as a child.
But beyond loving James, he also adored the Heat.
The Heat was his favorite team, and he revealed that his family had painted the walls of his childhood bedroom to celebrate them.
Playing for that team was a dream, and now it’s become a dream come true.
The Heat took Herro as the 13th pick in the draft, but the Celtics were right behind with the 14th pick.
They had informed Herro and his management that they were going to draft him if the Heat passed him by.
Miami didn’t let that happen, choosing Herro and leading to the Celtics selecting Romeo Langford instead.
What would Herro in Boston have looked like?
He has become one of the hottest sharpshooters in the league and has the ability to post some impressive buckets from the perimeter and beyond.
That means he probably would have fit in perfectly with the current Boston roster, but he’s obviously very happy playing for the Heat.
